Dog Training FAQs

Pay-as-you-train allows full flexibility for when you attend your classes. this is a totally unique way, and are designed for my clients to be able to fit puppy training around their lifestyle, but still be able to commit to their four-legged friend and their learning journey. It is important that young dogs have fun, and learn at the same time.

Dogs learn best through regular practice and clear guidance. Training little and often helps behaviours become habits and gives your dog the confidence to understand what is expected of them.

Even 10–15 minutes of training a day can make a huge difference over time, helping your dog develop better focus, calmer behaviour and stronger communication with you.

Training isn’t just about teaching cues — it’s about helping your dog learn how to navigate the human world successfully.

The benefits often include:

  • Better focus and listening
  • Improved behaviour at home and on walks
  • Stronger trust and communication between you and your dog
  • Increased confidence for nervous dogs
  • A calmer, more enjoyable life together

Training helps you and your dog work as a team.

This is very common. Many dogs behave well at home but struggle in real-life situations such as seeing other dogs, visitors arriving, busy walks or exciting environments.

Training helps your dog learn how to make better choices in those challenging moments, giving you the tools to guide them calmly and confidently.

Absolutely not. Dogs are capable of learning at any age.

Whether you have a young puppy, an adolescent dog testing boundaries or an older dog with established habits, training can help improve behaviour, build confidence and strengthen your relationship.

You’re not alone — many owners feel frustrated when things don’t improve as quickly as they hoped.

Often it’s not about trying harder, but about having the right guidance, structure and support.

Training is really about understanding your dog and how they learn. Just like people, every dog is an individual and will respond differently, so part of the process is working out what makes things click for them.

With the right approach, clear communication and consistent practice, many behaviour challenges can improve significantly.

Absolutely not. Many dog owners feel this way when their dog pulls on the lead, reacts to other dogs, ignores recall or struggles to settle. The truth is, dogs don’t come with a manual, and every dog learns at a different pace.

Behaviour challenges are incredibly common and often simply mean your dog needs more guidance, practice and support to understand what we’re asking of them in our busy human world.

With the right training, patience and consistency, many dogs can make huge improvements, and you can start to enjoy life together much more.
