About

Hi, I'm Claire

I am passionate about helping dogs and their humans build calm, confident, and connected lives together. I specialise in supporting puppies and young dogs to get the very best start, while also working closely with adolescent and adult dogs who may be struggling with big emotions, reactivity, or confidence challenges.

My Journey

My journey into dog training began when I realised my four much-loved spaniels needed more thoughtful, personalised guidance than the generic training we had received. I knew there had to be a better way – one that supported both dogs and their people for long-term success, not quick fixes.

That curiosity grew into a deep passion for canine behaviour. I immersed myself in force-free, reward-based methods and went on to gain professional qualifications through respected organisations such as the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers. My learning has continued ever since.

My Approach

Alongside foundation training, I developed a strong focus on reactivity and emotional regulation. Supporting reactive dogs is close to my heart, and my approach centres on understanding behaviour rather than suppressing it. I work empathetically with both dog and owner, creating tailored plans that reflect each dog’s history, triggers and family life.

I founded PawFecter Dog Training to help dogs blossom through kind, clear and empowering guidance. My philosophy is built on trust, communication and patience – with learning that feels positive and rewarding for both ends of the lead.

My Development

I am deeply committed to continued personal and professional development and regularly invest in further education, workshops, and courses so my clients receive up-to-date, evidence-based support.

I am a qualified dog trainer accredited with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and The Dog Trainer School (TDTS), and I am also a qualified TDTS reactivity coach. The world of dog training is constantly evolving, and I am passionate about continuing to learn and develop so I can offer the best possible support to the dogs and owners I work with.

My Commitment

I aim to give my clients more than training sessions – I provide the understanding, confidence and tools to truly “get” their dog. Whether you’re navigating puppyhood, adolescence or reactivity, I’ll support you every step of the way.

If you’re looking for personalised, compassionate support tailored to your dog as an individual, I’d love to hear from you. Helping dogs and their humans build stronger relationships and enjoy a calmer, more connected life together is what drives my work.
